Senior Counsel - Private Funds

Our client is a well-known hedge fund.

• Provide legal guidance on the development, structuring, and launch of private funds, including both open- and closed-end funds.
• Advise on compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to private funds within the financial services industry.
• Draft, review, and negotiate fund documents and other related agreements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address legal and regulatory matters.
• Support the legal department in advising on governance and operational matters.
• Monitor changes in laws and regulations and ensure the company's compliance with these changes.
• Provide strategic legal advice to senior management and other departments as needed.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with external counsel and regulatory authorities.

A successful Senior Counsel - Private Funds should have:

• JD from a top US law school.
• Admission to NY Bar in good standing.
• 10+ years of experience gained at a top big law firm and/or in-house, with experience developing, structuring, and launching private funds (whether open- or closed-end), as well as familiarity with relevant portions of key investment management laws and regulations.
• Significant experience in developing, structuring, and launching private funds.
• Expertise in legal and regulatory matters within the financial services industry.
• Strong ability to draft, review, and negotiate legal documents.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven ability to navigate complex legal and regulatory frameworks.

• Competitive salary in the range of $375,000 - $400,000 USD.
