Whistler Partners is partnering with a nationally recognized litigation boutique seeking a litigation associate (3–4 years) to join its New York team. This group is known for handling bet-the-company disputes for sophisticated clients, including public and private businesses, hedge funds, and private equity firms.

San Francisco is also an option for the right candidate, as the practice is deeply active across both coasts.

This is a rare opportunity to join a lean, high-performance litigation platform where associates are trusted with real responsibility and meaningful courtroom-facing experience early.

This firm is intentionally not a traditional Big Law environment. Matters are staffed leanly, associates are deeply involved in strategy, and the work is fast-moving, high-stakes, and intellectually demanding.

The culture emphasizes collaboration, creativity, and real engagement—more whiteboarding and problem-solving with clients, less paper-pushing. Associates here gain hands-on experience across complex disputes and are treated as true core members of the litigation team from day one.

• Support and help run complex commercial litigation matters, including trademark/copyright, trade secrets, antitrust, and class actions.
• Draft motions, briefs, demand letters, and other high-impact litigation filings.
• Take and defend depositions, or prepare outlines and witnesses for key testimony.
• Manage discovery across all phases, including written discovery and expert coordination.
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with small teams in a fast-paced, strategic litigation environment.

• 3–4 years of experience in complex commercial litigation.
• Exposure to high-stakes matters involving IP, trade secrets, antitrust, or class actions.
• Strong academic credentials from a top law school.
• Federal or state supreme court clerkship strongly preferred.
• Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Positive, energetic attitude and dedication to high-performance work in a boutique setting.
• Comfortable operating in lean teams with early responsibility.
