Associate Director of Public Relations

Ambition have partnered with a global law firm to hire a talented and experienced legal public relations professional, to join a global communications team, taking a leading role in firmwide external communications strategy.

We would be looking to engage those who have a strong understanding of the legal and financial landscape, which will ideally include press contacts within both industries. Our client are open to the idea of considering those who are currently operating at senior management and looking to step or individuals open to the idea of a lateral move.

Key duties included within the role are:

• Take ownership for putting together the media and public relations strategy for the US, this will include focusing on the needs of a variety of different practice groups across the firm, whilst also being involved in global PR strategy for the firm.
• Play a leading role in the media strategy for the firm, being the main point of contact for the firms PR agency and also building and nurturing relationships within individuals in the legal press.
• Work with the lawyers and firm leadership team to pull together compelling thought leadership content to help build individuals and firm brand in targeted markets.
• Working with internal peers in the marketing and business development team on a range of brand reputation initiatives, on a US and international basis.
• Take a leadership position in helping to develop junior talent across the communications team, becoming a go to PR resource for the firm.
• As and when needed take the lead on dealing with crisis communications, to mitigate potential risks to the firm's brand.
