Miller and Miller Law Group is an established estate planning and elder law practice known for clarity, compassion, and competency. Our work centers on helping individuals and families navigate meaningful life transitions with thoughtful legal guidance and steady support. Our culture values leadership, accountability, and strong communication. You will join a team that supports initiative and values attorneys who are ready to take ownership of both client experience and office growth.

About

The Opportunity

This is a leadership‑focused role for an attorney who enjoys autonomy and wants to make a meaningful impact. You will serve as the primary attorney for the Brooklyn office, managing matters from consultation through completion while shaping the client journey and supporting the growth of the location.

You will be supported by an onsite intake coordinator and firm leadership that continues to drive business development. As the office grows, additional paralegal support is planned, creating an opportunity for you to build and guide a local team.

Candidates with significant hands‑on estate planning responsibility are strongly encouraged to apply. This role offers a pathway for an attorney who wants to lead, grow a team, and build long‑term influence within a respected practice.

What You Will Do
  • Manage client matters from beginning to end including consultations, planning design, drafting, signing meetings, and follow‑through
  • Guide clients through estate planning, elder law, Medicaid planning, and estate or trust administration
  • Lead the Brooklyn office's daily legal operations with confidence and professionalism
  • Ensure a smooth and supportive client experience from first meeting through implementation
  • Collaborate with firm leadership on workflow, client service, and future growth
  • Support the development of team structure as additional staff are added
What Success Looks Like

  • Drafting is accurate, timely, and aligned with firm standards
  • Office operations run smoothly under your leadership
  • Communication remains clear and proactive
  • Your presence strengthens both client relationships and internal team effectiveness
You May Be a Strong Fit If You
  • Are confident managing matters independently from intake through completion
  • Communicate clearly and comfortably with clients on sensitive topics
  • Enjoy leadership and ownership of outcomes
  • Bring organization, follow‑through, and strong drafting skills
  • Are comfortable making decisions and guiding a full caseload

    Preferred Experience
    • Estate planning and elder law experience with hands‑on responsibility
    • Familiarity with Medicaid planning and administration matters
    • Experience with planning software such as Elder Counsel or Wealth Counsel is a plus
    • Bilingual ability is welcome
    Qualifications
    • JD and active New York license in good standing
    • 3 to 5 years of estate planning, elder law, or trust and estates experience
    • Experience managing matters from consultation through execution
    • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
    Compensation and Benefits
    • Compensation will be structured to reflect leadership responsibility and experience
    • Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement support, professional development, and performance‑based bonus opportunities
    • Partnership pathway available for long‑term contributors
    Why This Role Stands Out
    • Opportunity to lead an office and shape its future
    • Hybrid flexibility
    • Support from leadership on business development while you focus on execution and client service
    • Ability to help build a local team over time
    • A long‑term growth path within a respected practice
