Complex Insurance Defense Attorney

• Billable hours minimum expectation of 1,800, hybrid/flexible WFH schedule.

• $145k - $165k+ commesurate with experience and annual billables bonus of up to $50k in bonuses + fully comprehensive benefits, healthcare coverage, PTO.

Our client is an AmLaw-caliber and nationally renowned law firm founded in the early 1930's, positioning them as one of New York City's oldest and most respected law firms with a national presence as a premier legal defense firm handling complex civil litigation matters as well as commercial litigation. The firm has open positions for the following opportunity at their offices based in Ft.

Lauderdale, FL. The practice centers on insurance, reinsurance, and various other matters spanning across transactional & regulatory compliance servicing sophisticated and bespoke institutional clients.

• Handle complex insurance coverage litigation, including commercial first‑party insurance, reinsurance, third‑party liability, professional liability, and bad faith coverage disputes.
• Take ownership of motion practice, coverage opinions, discovery, and client communications as part of a collaborative team in a nationally prominent practice.

• JD from an accredited law school and above-average academic credentials.
• Admission to practice law in Florida.
• At least 3 years of experience in the private practice of law.
• Working experience providing legal defense for complex insurance claims and related matters

• Admission to multiple U.S. jurisdictions (i.e. NY & NJ).
• Litigation experience handling insurance coverage matters, with substantial experience in all phases of litigation from pre‑litigation management through motion practice and settlement or trial phase.
• Superb legal writing skill and forensic legal analysis and research proficiency.
