Location: New York
The New York State Unified Court System is seeking a Principal Court Attorney in Bronx County Supreme Court - Criminal Term. This position will be responsible for managing and expediting prioritized legal matters including administrative aspects such as fulfilling weekly reporting mandates, case tracking and maintaining databases relating to these priority matters.
Key Responsibilities- Researching and analyzing complex legal issues.
- Drafting opinions and orders for individual judges.
- Conferencing with assistant district attorneys and defense attorneys towards facilitating the completion of the Discovery process as well as the resolution or trial of prioritized matters.
- Assisting Judges as directed by the Administrative Judge or the Chief Clerk.
- Trouble‑shooting and critical thinking to address all obstacles preventing cases from moving judiciously to comply with standards and goals.
Admission to the New York State Bar; and Three (3) years of service in the Associate Court Attorney title; or Eight (8) years of relevant legal experience gained after admission to the New York State Bar.
