Trust & Estate Planning Associate NY

Description: Fox Rothschild has an opening in the New York, NY office for a Trust & Estate associate to join our Taxation & Wealth Planning Department. The ideal candidate will have three to six years of experience with estate planning and trust administration. Our Trust & Estate Practice is nationally recognized for advising high-net-worth individuals and families on complex estate planning, tax strategies, and wealth preservation.

This position offers client interaction, and the chance to work on complex matters for a nationally recognized firm that values collaboration and your expertise. We are not currently accepting resumes from search firms for this position.

• Juris Doctorate (JD) required. Must be licensed to practice law in the state of New York.
• LLM in Taxation is a plus but not required.

• Strong research, writing skills, and academic record.
• Experience in trusts and estate planning, administration and taxation (including for high net-worth individuals and sophisticated estates).
• Experience in research, analysis, drafting documents for the implementation of estate and tax plans, as well as preparation and/or review of tax returns (including the preparation of Federal estate tax returns) and other documents related to planning structures.
• Experience planning for family-owned businesses and life insurance structures.
• Experience with all levels of fiduciary litigation is a plus.
• Large law firm experience strongly preferred.

• This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment including, but not limited to computers, telephones, printers, and copiers.

• Sedentary work:
  Exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.

• Worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

• The salary range for this position applies to New York City. The salary range reflects a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a position.
  
  A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $225,000 - $265,000.
