Job DescriptionTrigyn's Direct Government Client has an immediate need for Attorney who can work onsite in New York, NY.
The client needs an attorney to process and respond to the large volume of legal guidance requests it receives every day.
Other duties include:
- Preparing motions to quash subpoenas or for protective orders
- Responding to contempt motions
- Engaging in other motion practice as appropriate
- Researching legal issues in these and other areas
The attorney will provide legal guidance to Associate General Counsel, General Counsel, and executive staff regarding disclosure and privacy issues, and also supervise clerical staff in collecting, redacting, producing, and copying responsive documents.
QualificationsSkills:
- Must have experience with FOIL requests and subpoena process.
- Preferred candidate will have demonstrated organizational and managerial skills, along with relevant experience and/or demonstrated interest in public information area.
- Preferred candidate will have at least three years of litigation or related experience; experience must include document production.
- Minimum requirements include admission to the New York State Bar.
Daily Duties/Tasks:
- Attorney review of legal requests
- Respond to legal inquiries and provide legal guidance
- Legal research, litigation and appeals
- Supervision of staff
- Time management skills
