Overview
Arnold & Porter is seeking a junior or mid-level associate to join the Employee Benefits/Executive Compensation team in our New York office. Ideal applicants will have at least two years of relevant experience, a record of outstanding academic achievement, superior writing and analytical skills, and a demonstrated interest in executive compensation and ERISA work.
Arnold & Porter’s Employee Benefits/Executive Compensation practice brings a multidisciplinary approach to solving our clients' problems, with our lawyers having deep experience with ERISA and tax law aspects of compensation and benefits programs, as well as, corporate, securities, and employment law considerations that often are key to developing comprehensive solutions.
We have a long tradition of advising a broad client base that includes publicly held corporations, privately held corporations, financial institutions, partnerships, (including private equity funds and hedge funds), individual executives and not-for-profit entities.
Our employee benefits and executive compensation attorneys work with clients on a wide range of compensation and benefit matters, both within the context of day-to-day operations and in support of corporate transactions and bankruptcies, including designing and implementing cash and equity-based awards, deferred compensation plans, employment and restrictive covenant arrangements, and advising on fiduciary duty and prohibited transaction rules under ERISA and tax-qualified plan compliance.
All applicants should have excellent references and must currently be licensed, or eligible to become licensed, to practice law in the jurisdictions in which they are applying.
CompensationThe salary range for this position in New York is $225,000 to $310,000, commensurate with experience.
Eligibility for an hours-based bonus available.
