Base pay: $55,000 – $75,000 per year.
OverviewMG+M is a nationally renowned litigation law firm concentrating on complex civil matters, including toxic tort, product liability, local government, general liability, and commercial litigation. We are located in New York and work closely with clients to deliver optimal results.
Key Responsibilities- Manage multiple complex litigation matters simultaneously.
- Assist with all aspects of trial preparation and logistics, administrative/case management, client reporting, expert retention, and client communication.
- Monitor case filings and provide detailed assessments to attorneys.
- Draft and prepare initial drafts of pre‑trial motions, dispositive motions, motions in limine, and other pre‑trial pleadings.
- Review and evaluate discovery documents, including medical records, sales documents, employment records and other case material.
- Compose case assessments and evaluations for review by associates and partners.
- Maintain accounting and submit personal billable time.
- Attend trials and assist the trial team with all trial‑related matters.
- 3+ years of experience. Experience with asbestos/toxic tort defense litigation and calendaring is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal certificate.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Westlaw, PACER, and/or File & Serve Xpress.
- Attendance & punctuality: consistently arrive at work and meetings on time; ensure responsibilities are covered when absent.
- Communication: excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with attorneys, other paralegals, and legal administrative assistants.
- Organization: strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Customer service: respond promptly to attorney and client requests for service and assistance; meet commitments.
- Dependability: follow instructions, complete tasks on time, work independently, and commit to the hours necessary to meet deadlines.
- Teamwork: contribute to building a positive team spirit and support the success of colleagues.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
