Opportunity for a Real Estate Paralegal to join a Commercial Lending practice in New York.

Nationally recognised for its strength in Banking and Finance, the firm partners with banks, insurance companies, institutional lenders and major finance conglomerates, in their capacity both as lenders and investors.
The PracticeThe Real Estate Finance group sits under the firm’s commercial lending practice. The primary partner represents commercial lenders, including commercial banks (foreign and domestic), insurance companies, specialty finance companies, and REITs, in the origination of mortgage and mezzanine loans. This role has a strong emphasis on construction lending and will support a partner who regularly handles ground-up developments and large-scale construction financing.
The team also handles complex transactions involving hospitality, industrial, multifamily, and healthcare properties, and has significant experience with distressed asset restructurings and environmentally sensitive projects.
The Firm seeks a bright, hard-working candidate with strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail.

RequirementsThe work will include the following tasks among other responsibilities:
- A minimum of 3-4 years of paralegal experience as part of a real estate or real estate finance group, banking paralegal experience a plus
- The successful candidate must be able to interact with co-workers and clients in a professional, approachable manner, be independent, motivated and embrace ownership of day-to-day responsibilities.
- Analyze title documents, real property legal descriptions and surveys
- Prepares title and survey summaries
- Identify and recommend title endorsements and removal of or changes to title exceptions
- Coordinate with title companies regarding title insurance policy issues and satisfaction of closing conditions Prepare charts to monitor title and survey status for multi-site transactions and coordinate diligence review
- Demonstrated ability to use Word, Excel, document management and redlining applications and time keeping programs
- Commitment to client service and the ability to work independently are critical, as is the ability to handle fast-paced transactions while juggling requests from multiple sources
- Attention to detail and timelines
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints
- Capacity to effectively manage details and time sensitive assignments
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills required in order to communicate and follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff
- Ability to understand and utilize computer equipment, software and search tools in order to locate information, set up databases and spreadsheets and work with form documents and other applications
