Associate General Counsel – Regulatory Compliance (P&C Insurance)
We’re partnered with a well-established insurance organization seeking a hands‑on Associate General Counsel to support U.S. insurance regulatory and compliance matters. This is a true in‑house, business‑facing role for an attorney who understands how insurance companies operate in practice—not a litigation‑only or purely academic position.
The ideal candidate has P&C insurance experience and a strong working knowledge of U.S. insurance statutes, regulations, licensing, and compliance requirements. You’ll work directly with regulators, advise internal stakeholders, and handle practical contract work related to TPAs and program administrators.
This role is well‑suited for an attorney who enjoys being close to the business, balancing regulatory oversight with real‑world contract negotiation and compliance support.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with U.S.
-based insurance regulatory and compliance matters - Collaborate directly with insurance regulators as issues arise
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, including TPA and program administrator agreements
- Advise business partners on material legal, regulatory, and compliance considerations
- Conduct legal research and analysis; draft legal memoranda
- Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable U.S. laws and regulations
- Support additional legal, regulatory, compliance, and corporate projects as needed
- J.D. and active membership in a U.S. State Bar
- Required experience within the U.S. insurance (P&C) or reinsurance industry
- Background in insurance regulatory and compliance matters
- Experience with litigation or employment disputes is a plus (not required)
- Hybrid role with offices in Hartford, CT; NYC;
New Jersey; or Philadelphia
- $145,000 – $205,000 base salary, depending on experience
