Global Asset Manager In-House Legal & Compliance Counsel

A global asset manager with approximately $160B AUM with emerging markets roots and a commitment to developing specialist investment teams that offer distinctive investment strategies spanning equities, fixed income, multi-asset, alternatives and sustainability to help institutional investors, those advising others, and individuals is looking for a legal and compliance funds counsel.

CANDIDATES MUST HAVE A JD AND AT LEAST 2 YEARS OF FUNDS/ ASSET MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE.

CANDIDATES MUST BE CURRENTLY LOCATED IN NY AND BE ABLE & WILLING TO GO INTO NYC OFFICE AT LEAST 4 DAYS A WEEK.

As Compliance Officer & Legal Counsel, you will assist the Head of Legal, Americas & CCO on both legal and compliance matters. Your compliance duties will focus on implementing and overseeing the firm's compliance program under applicable regulations, including the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Investment Company Act of 1940 and ERISA. You will also play a key role in the ensuring that reporting is completed on an accurate and timely basis and will assist with the filing of various regulatory filings and reviewing legal and compliance sections of RFPs and due diligence questionnaires.

Your legal duties will focus on reviewing or drafting various legal agreements, such as NDAs, event contracts and fund documents that cover the firm’s various fund ranges, which include private funds, ’40 Act funds and model portfolios. You will also liaise on legal matters involving our trading and derivatives teams.

Compensation will consist of a base of $200,000 to $225,000, as well as a discretionary, performance-based annual bonus and a full suite of benefits.

This role requires at least 4 days in its midtown NYC office and the hours are typically 8:30-6:00 (for real!) and no weekends!
