A leading Am Law firm is seeking an associate with strong transactional tax experience to join its Tax practice in New York. The team advises investment funds and portfolio companies on complex domestic and cross-border transactions, including M&A, fund formation, joint ventures, and financing structures. This is an excellent opportunity to work on sophisticated matters within a collaborative practice known for providing strategic, technically sound tax guidance.
Key Responsibilities- Advise on M&A transactions, financing arrangements, and portfolio investments.
- Design and implement tax-efficient structures for joint ventures and corporate transactions.
- Provide state and local tax planning advice across a range of industries.
- Support clients involved in renewable energy projects, including tax incentive eligibility and project structuring.
- Draft client alerts and contribute to thought leadership on emerging tax developments.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple practice areas and offices.
- 3+ years of transactional tax experience gained in a respected law firm.
- Strong background in corporate and partnership taxation.
- Experience with fund clients, renewable energy, or accounting firm training is advantageous.
- Excellent writing, verbal communication, and client management skills.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines.
- Member of the New York Bar or eligible for admission.
- JD or LLM from an accredited law school.
Salary Range: $260,000 – $310,000 DOE
