WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU SUMMARYNHL Enterprises, L.P. is seeking an attorney with experience in trademark and copyright matters, including trademark prosecution, intellectual property clearances, researching and advising on intellectual property matters (including trademark, copyright, advertising/marketing, and right of publicity), as well as production and content clearances.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide legal support in connection with trademark and copyright matters, including trademark clearance and prosecution matters and production and content clearances, including:
- Advising on all intellectual property matters across all forms of media, including brand usage, trademark protection, content, licensing, production, creative services, and marketing;
- Providing legal review of short form and long form content for distribution on television and digital media (including social media);
- Advising on domestic and international trademark registration and prosecution.
- Drafting and negotiating IP-related agreements, including coexistence agreements, assignments, work for hire agreements, and settlement agreements;
- Conducting trademark search/clearance of all proposed brand identities (including names, logos, taglines); and
- Working on other matters as requested.
Knowledge Areas/Experience
- 8+ years of relevant legal experience in intellectual property (including trademark, copyright, and right of publicity law). Law firm and in-house experience preferred
- Significant experience in trademark search/clearance, trademark prosecution, anti-counterfeiting and international trademark practice
- Transactional experience negotiating, structuring and drafting commercial agreements with intellectual property/licensing components preferred
- JD from an accredited law school
- Admission (or ability to be admitted) to New York Bar required
- Superior drafting and communication skills and attention to detail
- Strong ability to work independently, proactively prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
