We are seeking a highly skilled Coverage Counsel to join our legal team. This role combines claims‑related coverage expertise with strategic product and coverage support. You will provide day‑to‑day coverage advice, oversee litigation matters, and partner on product development initiatives. You will report to the Associate General Counsel, Head of Product & Coverage.
Claims & Coverage Support- Analyze and advise on complex or disputed claims, including recommending external coverage assessments when appropriate.
- Draft coverage position letters and provide counsel on claim resolution strategies.
- Monitor and advise on coverage litigation strategy, procedural issues, and motions practice.
- Assist in preparing witnesses, discovery, selecting and managing panel counsel, and delivering better coverage litigation management processes.
- Handle E&O or extra‑contractual allegations brought against the company.
- Monitor litigation trends and legislative changes that may impact our lines of business and provide analysis and counsel on risk mitigation to stakeholders.
- Analyze and advise on policy verbiage impact and applicability to claim scenarios.
- Monitor and counsel on emerging risks and coverage gaps to inform product strategy.
- J.D. from an accredited law school; admitted to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- at least 7 years of experience in insurance coverage law, preferably with both litigation and advisory experience.
- Strong understanding of insurance products and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Comfort with technology, including a willingness to learn and use AI tools, legal research platforms, and internal systems to streamline analysis, research, and workflow.
- LPT experience helpful but not required.

SALARY:
The estimated annual salary range for this position is mentioned below. This is a good‑faith assessment of the salary range for this position only. In determining the actual salary within this range, Sirius Point will consider a candidate’s relevant experience, location, and other job‑related factors.
$160,000 - $180,000 USD
