A dynamic and growing real estate development and investment organization is seeking an experienced Real Estate Attorney to report directly to the company principals. This role will manage a broad range of transactional and legal matters related to acquisitions, financing, development, leasing, construction, and general corporate affairs.

• Review, draft, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, leases, construction agreements, and related transactional documents

• Draft and negotiate commercial leases

• Provide legal guidance on acquisitions, lender financing, development projects, and ongoing property operations

• Collaborate with outside counsel, state and local agencies, and internal teams including development, leasing, property management, and accounting

• Participate in meetings and conference calls as needed

• Attend court proceedings on behalf of the landlord when necessary (infrequent)

• 7–10+ years of substantive transactional real estate experience, preferably with a large or mid-sized New York or Long Island law firm

• Active license to practice law in New York

• Strong drafting, negotiation, research, and analytical skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail

• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Demonstrated ability to work independently with sound judgment, integrity, and professionalism

• Proactive and motivated, with a desire to be involved in all aspects of a real estate development organization
