After working alongside each other for the best part of 10 years, followed by a venture spinoff to create a boutique specialised in commercial real estate transactions with a niche in the affordable housing space, our client is looking to further bolster their team in all area's.

Due to consistent organic growth of their deal flow, coupled with the expansion of large developers moving into the affordable housing space, the firm are looking to welcome a skilled paralegal.

• Assist attorneys in negotiating, drafting, reviewing, and revising purchase agreements, leases, development contracts, and other documents specific to affordable housing projects, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) agreements, HUD financing documents, and regulatory compliance filings
• Conduct due diligence research, including title searches, surveys, environmental assessments, zoning reviews, and evaluations of affordable housing subsidies, tax credits, and compliance requirements
• Support the management of complex transactions in the affordable housing sector, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and development projects ranging from $1m - $500m, with a focus on mixed-income and subsidized housing initiatives
• Collaborate with attorneys, clients, government agencies, and legal staff to ensure successful execution of affordable housing-related legal matters

• NY Public Notary with 5+ years of relevant CRE transactional experience
• Familiarity with affordable housing financing mechanisms, such as LIHTC, tax‑exempt bonds, Section 8 vouchers, and related security interests, as well as corporate governance documents for nonprofit and public‑private partnerships
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships at all levels, including with community organizations and regulatory bodies
• Technologically proficient with experience using legal software and tools, including Westlaw/Practical Law, iManage, Adobe, and Microsoft Office Suite
