We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lawyer to join a prestigious law firm in New York. The ideal candidate will have experience managing cases from inception through resolution. This role requires a strong understanding of legal procedures and the ability to conduct thorough research, draft documents, and maintain case files. The ideal candidate should have experience in plaintiff side personal injury and must have 2 plus years of experience.
Litigation experience is a plus.
Salary is based on experience
Responsibilities- Case Management: Handle all phases of personal injury cases from inception through settlement or trial, including conducting initial consultations, drafting pleadings, motions, and necessary correspondence.
- Client Advocacy: Provide expert legal advice, represent clients in court, and attend mediations and arbitrations to ensure the client's best interests are preserved and advocated.
- Investigation and Research: Conduct thorough legal research and factual investigations to support case preparation and litigation strategies.
- Negotiation: Engage in settlement negotiations with insurance companies and opposing counsel to obtain optimal outcomes for clients.
- Trial Preparation: Collaborate with legal staff, including paralegals and legal assistants, to prepare for trials, including formulating trial strategies, preparing witnesses, and drafting legal documents.
- Compliance: Ensure all legal processes are conducted in accordance with state and federal laws and meet all filing deadlines.
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensure: Must be a member in good standing of the New York State Bar.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience practicing law, with a strong focus on personal injury cases. Trial experience is highly desired.
- Skills: Strong litigation, negotiation, and advocacy skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
