The Roadside Service Tech I-Tow is responsible for providing safe and best in class roadside solutions for AAA members while ensuring positive member experiences and achieving performance standards and member satisfaction rates. Tow Technicians respond to member requests for service within a defined ETA, ensure personal safety, member safety and vehicle security, educate members on possible issues, provide jump starts, replace flat tires, present vehicle entries and other related services.

Provides minor mechanical assistance (if trained and equipped) to get a member s vehicle on the go; if not successful, tow disabled vehicles to repair facilities or other member destinations; promote AAA products and services; ensure complete resolution of member issues.

The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $27.00 per hour. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, shift differentials and experience. Annual bonuses are offered to employees and certain roles are eligible to earn additional forms of compensation through monthly and/or quarterly incentives. Additional $2.75 per hour overnight shift differential on any hours worked between 10pm and 6am. Additional $1.75 per hour evening shift differential for hours between 6pm and 10pm. Additional $1 per hour shift differential for weekend hours. Differentials can be combined.

Sunday-Thursday 3:30pm-12:00am

• Accepts calls and responds to Dispatch or members with ETA to destination. Locates members and greets members to take action, as necessary, to deal with emotional states (e.g., calming down someone who is angry, providing reassurance to someone who is fearful or anxious), and handling the technical aspects of the situation. Assesses safety of the scene on arrival to ensure the vehicle is in a safe location to provide service so as not to endanger the member or traveling companions.
• Provides efficient minor mechanical assistance (if trained and equipped) and towing service: makes a preliminary determination of the best course of action based on all information collected. Asks for assistance if unsure about a certain situation. Provides battery boost as appropriate; follows safety procedures. If towing is required, safely tows vehicles per Club policies and procedures, AAA towing manual guidelines or manufacturer’s specifications, as appropriate.
• Maintains AAA high standard of service and image: maintains service vehicle and equipment in good safe working order (conduct safety checks). Maintains inventory of tools and products to ensure all service calls can be completed. Follows traffic and motor vehicle laws and safety procedures. Maintains a professional image (self and vehicle) to positively represent the AAA brand. Follows temporarily repaired vehicles to ensure member safety or transports members to their destination if vehicle is to be towed (subject to Club policies).
  
  Operates MDC computer to receive and update information regarding calls. Collects Club revenue through cash and credit cards accurately. Safeguards confidential information and follows proper paperwork guidelines according to Club policies.
