Director of Operations & Supply Chain | New York (Hybrid) Mitzvah is a modern ritual and lifestyle brand rooted in Jewish values and expressed through contemporary culture. We’re building premium physical products, starting with water. We’re looking for a right-hand operator to build the physical backbone of the company. You will design, build, and run the systems that allow the business to scale without making expensive mistakes.

• End-to-End Beverage Operations Own the full supply chain: sourcing → production → inventory → 3PL → distributors → customers (DTC, Amazon, GoPuff, retail). Manage beverage co-packers end-to-end: schedules, yields, QC, lead times, and ongoing optimization. Own BOM sourcing (bottles, caps, labels, corrugate) and ensure materials arrive on time and on spec.
• Omni-Channel Fulfillment (“Setting the Rails”) Run DTC operations via Shopify + 3PL (order flow, tracking, customer experience). Lead Amazon setup and execution (Seller Central, FBA vs FBM, inbound compliance). Manage retail / quick-commerce ops (e.g. GoPuff): routing guides, delivery windows, EDI feeds, chargeback prevention.
• Logistics, Freight & Inventory Own freight strategy for heavy product (LTL / FTL), negotiate rates, protect margins. Build demand forecasting and inventory planning models across channels with very different velocities. Serve as the primary operator for 3PL partners — accuracy, speed, and accountability.
• Financial Discipline & Risk Prevention Track true landed COGS per unit (production, freight, storage, fulfillment). Identify risks early: stockouts, overproduction, long lead times, retail promos. Put backup plans in place before things break.
• Systems, Compliance & Infrastructure Implement and own ERP / inventory / OMS systems and SOPs that scale. Ensure FDA beverage compliance, COAs, shelf-life testing, and state requirements (Bottle Bills / CRV). Build clean, auditable operational processes from day one.

• Experience we’re looking for 6–10+ years in Operations / Supply Chain within beverage (non-negotiable).
• Hands-on experience with co-packers, 3PLs, distributors, and e-commerce.
• Strong forecasting, inventory planning, and cost-control instincts.
• Advanced Excel; experience with ERP / inventory systems.
• Early-stage or founder-led company experience is a big plus.
