Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sourcing Specialist.
In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for providing strategic sourcing services on Med Surg Services spend to NYU Langone Health based on predefined service levels. The specialist will request, review, and execute contracts from start to finish, collaborate with internal teams such as Data Management, Purchasing, Clinical Supply Chain, Project Management, and Value Analysis, work under general direction from the Sourcing Manager, and provide direction to Contract Admins.
Job Responsibilities- Analyze data both financially and qualitatively to present outcomes and convey findings to end users; identify sourcing opportunities.
- Maintain expiring contracts report, Q calendar, and system price parity; provide contract support for new product additions and match exceptions.
- Negotiate with suppliers on pricing and contractual terms; analyze contracts and develop terms that support business requirements, including service expectations, goods specifications, and performance measurement.
- Act as customer service liaison; obtain requestor/end‑user feedback to ensure alignment with departmental goals; assist departments in implementing sourcing changes.
- Identify, implement, and quantify strategic sourcing savings opportunities.
- Seek ways to improve business processes within or beyond the Supply Chain Department.
- Gather and interpret market and competitive intelligence through formal and informal processes.
- Support the Sourcing Manager and Leader in initiating new projects (RFPs) based on high spend, potential savings, upcoming contract expirations, process improvement, capital projects, and other value‑add opportunities.
- Help define sourcing strategies that optimize value in line with requestor/end‑user needs and market conditions.
- Work with requestors/end‑users to periodically review supplier effectiveness and keep them informed of evolving market capabilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of two to three years of Supply Chain experience, preferably one year in strategic sourcing across various commodities.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, ability to work with data in Excel.
- Organizational savvy; strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to follow documented process guidelines.
- Qualified to communicate effectively with all organizational levels.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York State Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $81,325.15 - $90,000.00 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses, incentives, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
