About This Role

The Manager of Commodity Management and Sourcing will negotiate and manage supplier contracts to achieve cost savings and enhance supplier performance while managing cross‑functional teams and building collaborative relationships. Lead team of intermediate to experienced Commodity / Account Management & Strategic Sourcing professionals, setting objectives and guiding others on executing and implementing supply chain strategy. Responsible for developing and improving commodity management and sourcing processes to enhance price, quality, timing, and reliability of Carrier outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Category Strategy Development:
    Develop and execute a comprehensive category strategy for Aftermarket parts, aligned with the organization’s overall procurement and business objectives. Conduct market research and analysis to identify new opportunities, potential risks, and emerging trends within the Aftermarket HVAC industry.
  • Supplier Management:
    Lead supplier identification, evaluation, selection, and relationship management activities. Establish and maintain strong partnerships with key suppliers to ensure the highest quality, competitive pricing, and timely delivery of steel raw materials, components and products.
  • Negotiation and Contract Management:
    Negotiate favorable terms, conditions, and pricing with suppliers. Draft and manage contracts and agreements to protect the organization’s interests while promoting mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Cost Optimization:
    Implement cost reduction initiatives and continuously monitor market dynamics to capitalize on cost‑saving opportunities within the Aftermarket parts HVAC category without compromising quality.
  • Collaboration:

    Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including Planning, WHQ Supply Chain, Engineering, Product Development, and Operations, to understand their requirements and ensure alignment between procurement and business objectives.
  • Supplier Performance Management:
    Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for suppliers, evaluate their performance regularly, and work collaboratively to address any performance issues.
  • Team Leadership:
    Build and lead a high‑performing team of procurement professionals to support the Steel category. Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Economics or Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in Aftermarket Sourcing and/or Supply Chain within large, international organizations
  • 3+ years of advanced user knowledge in MS Excel & Word
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated track record of driving significant cost savings through strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier optimization, and contract negotiation.
  • Strong analytical and market research skills, with the ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities while mitigating supply chain risks.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • MBA preferred
  • English communication (written and verbal)
  • Presentation skills, able to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to travel in North America, up to 20%
