Job Description
Supply Chain Process Designer I, Bayport Facility
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing material and information flow processes for projects, understanding end‑to‑end supply chain system, and collaborating on small to medium scale projects. The candidate will travel approximately 25% and there is no sponsorship for this position.
Primary Responsibilities- Seek to understand customers’ needs in detail and satisfy them using process improvement and problem solving.
- Implement material, inventory, and information flow processes for the plan, make, source, and deliver strategies defined by business needs.
- Facilitate cross‑functional team meetings, kaizen events, and value stream mapping sessions.
- Design and procure material storage systems, material handling equipment, and computer hardware on small to medium scale projects.
- Create and document basic information flow systems containing supply chain and IT deliverables to meet project objectives.
- Maintain relationships with internal and external business partners including engineers, IT, suppliers, supervisors, leads, etc.
- Communicate assigned tasks and project status to project team and direct supervisor using status reports, meeting minutes, and formal updates.
- Introduce new perspectives on existing solutions to continuously improve material and information flow processes.
- Act as in‑charge lead for supply chain specific tasks.
- Informally provide direction to IT, scheduling, procurement, sourcing, vendors, etc.
- Four‑year degree in supply chain, business, engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience. Three to five years of experience preferred.
- Ability to apply knowledge and skills to a variety of assignments of moderate technical difficulty.
- Working knowledge and experience in material and information flow systems such as ERP, MES, and lean methodology.
- Experience with lean manufacturing processes (pull systems, Kanban, PDCA, value stream mapping) and project planning methodologies.
- Strong experience building and maintaining relationships.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and presentation techniques.
- Experience with change management strategies.
- Travel of approximately 25% as required.
