Regulatory Compliance Specialist, Supply Chain / Intl. Trade
Most entry writer roles just hand you a queue. This one hands you ownership of getting it right.
We're partnering with an established freight forwarding and customs brokerage team built around clean, audit-ready work and a no-politics, performance-first culture. They move volume — but they're not willing to trade accuracy for speed, and they're looking for someone who feels the same way.
The opportunity
This is an end-to-end ownership role. You'll take import entries from documents to clearance — classifying correctly, filing clean, and resolving issues before they become holds. There's no hand-off halfway through; the entry is yours from start to finish, and so is the outcome.
What you'll own
- Full-cycle entries — prepare and submit import entries in Cargo Wise accurately and on time, every time.
- Classification & compliance — apply correct HS codes, duty/tax treatments, and PGA requirements without guesswork.
- Document review — catch discrepancies in commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading before they cause problems downstream.
- Duty & charge calculations — get the numbers right the first time; mistakes here cost real money.
- Clearance management — track shipments through clearance, resolve customs queries and holds quickly, and keep things moving.
- Clean records — maintain audit-ready documentation on every entry, no shortcuts.
- Practical guidance — be the go-to resource for clients and internal teams navigating import requirements.
Who you are
- An experienced customs entry writer from freight forwarding or brokerage — this isn't an entry-level seat.
- Genuinely comfortable in Cargo Wise daily, not just familiar with it.
- Strong on tariff classification, customs procedure, and import compliance.
- Detail-obsessed — you know one missed code or miscalculation can cascade into real cost and delay.
- Able to juggle volume and deadlines without letting accuracy slip.
- A confident communicator who can hold their own with clients and customs authorities alike.
- Solid working knowledge of Incoterms and standard shipping documentation.
What you'll have behind you
- Hybrid flexibility — based in Franklin Square, NY, with remote days built in.
- Full benefits: 401(k) with match, health/dental/vision, life insurance, EAP.
- Flexible schedule and paid time off.
- A team culture built on contribution and attitude, not office politics.
Compensation
- $60,000–$80,000 base
- Full benefits
- 401(k) with company match
