Position SummaryThe Parts Associate/Parts Manager is responsible for supporting the daily operations of our Parts Department by managing inventory, assisting customers and service technicians, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring the right parts are available when needed. This position plays a vital role in delivering the exceptional service Strong's Marine is known for.
What You'll Do Customer Service- Deliver outstanding customer service to retail and service customers.
- Assist customers with parts selection, availability, pricing, and technical information.
- Resolve customer questions professionally and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through ordering, receiving, stocking, and cycle counts.
- Coordinate inventory between Strong's Marine locations as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels to support service demand and minimize delays.
- Maintain inventory records and required MSDS documentation.
- Organize the parts department for efficient retrieval and workflow.
- Work closely with Service Advisors, Technicians, Shop Managers, and Service Managers to ensure parts are available for scheduled repairs.
- Communicate proactively regarding backorders or anticipated delays.
- Help streamline the parts process to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Order parts from manufacturers and suppliers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
- Track orders and ensure timely deliveries.
- Process returns, exchanges, and warranty-related parts when applicable.
- Process purchase orders, invoices, work orders, and inventory transactions accurately.
- Ensure parts are posted correctly to work orders for timely estimates and repairs.
- Handle shipping and receiving of incoming and outgoing parts.
- Stay current on marine parts, accessories, and new product offerings.
- Develop knowledge of engines, propellers, electronics, hardware, and marine systems.
- Applicants with automotive, powersports, or motorcycle parts experience are encouraged to apply.
- Receive, unload, and organize incoming shipments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and retail parts area.
- Properly store hazardous materials in accordance with safety regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training is a plus)
- Experience in marine, automotive, motorcycle, or powersports parts preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Experience with inventory management systems and basic computer skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy environment
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods
$62,000.00 - $66,000.00 per year
Compensation:
Salary is competitive and negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
