OverviewThe Shipping & Import Coordinator is responsible for managing both domestic outbound shipping and international inbound imports. This role ensures customer orders are shipped accurately and on time while coordinating imported materials from suppliers through customs clearance to final delivery. The Shipping & Import Coordinator serves as the primary liaison with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective transportation across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
Responsibilities- Coordinate domestic and international shipments using Microsoft Dynamics GP.
- Manage inbound imports from booking through customs clearance and warehouse delivery.
- Prepare and maintain shipping and import documentation (BOLs, commercial invoices, CoAs, USMCA, PAPS, etc.).
- Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Oversee cross-border shipments between the U.S., Canada, and Mexico while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Monitor shipment status, communicate updates, and resolve transportation, customs, and freight issues.
- Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records within the ERP system.
- Track freight and duty costs to support landed cost reporting.
- Assist with warehouse receiving, inventory counts, and continuous process improvements.
- Partner with Customer Service, Purchasing, Finance, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams to ensure efficient operations.
- 1-3+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, import/export, warehouse operations, or supply chain preferred.
- Experience coordinating domestic and international shipments is a plus.
- Familiarity with shipping documentation, customs paperwork, bills of lading, commercial invoices, USMCA, and PAPS documentation preferred.
- Experience working with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics GP or similar) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- High school diploma or GED required; additional education in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business is a plus but not required.
