Location: New York

Squarespace is looking for a seasoned Director of Strategic Procurement to lead and elevate the company's Procurement function. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing enterprise-wide sourcing strategies to enable business goals, building and managing high-value supplier relationships, and driving cost efficiencies across all categories of spend. You will partner closely with executive leadership, finance, operations and business unit leaders to align procurement strategy with broader organizational goals, ensure supplier network resilience, and mitigate risk.

This is a highly visible leadership position ideal for a strategic thinker with deep procurement expertise with a track record of transforming procurement into a driver of measurable business value. You will report directly into our Senior Director of Finance Operations and be based in our New York City office.

You ll Get To... Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement vision directly aligned to the company s strategic priorities. Build multi-year sourcing strategies that enable key business goals and balance cost competitiveness, quality, service and speed. Identify opportunities to leverage enterprise-wide purchasing power through strategic sourcing initiatives. Support new products delivery through planning, model development and early procurement engagement. Oversee procurement transformation initiatives, including process optimization and digital procurement technologies.

Enhance procurement policies, governance, and best practices that support operational excellence. Lead execution of sourcing strategies for major spend categories tied to business goals. Lead complex sourcing initiatives and competitive bid processes. Evaluate supplier markets and industry trends to identify opportunities and mitigate risks. Balance cost, quality, speed, innovation, sustainability, and supplier diversity within sourcing decisions. Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis for major purchasing decisions.

Develop strategic partnerships with key suppliers. Establish supplier performance metrics, scorecards, and regular business reviews. Lead executive-level supplier negotiations and contract renewals. Identify supplier innovation opportunities that improve products, services, and operational efficiency. Manage supplier risk through business continuity planning and performance monitoring. Develop annual procurement targets and value creation initiatives tied to key business goals. Analyze organizational spend to identify efficiencies and cost optimization opportunities.

Monitor procurement KPIs and report performance to executive leadership. Support budgeting and financial planning through forecasting and market intelligence. Ensure procurement decisions support both financial and operational objectives. Develop procurement risk management strategies. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and internal policies. Oversee contract management and supplier compliance programs. Monitor external trends and market risks impacting procurement activities. Partner with Legal, Finance, and Security on complex supplier agreements.

Continuous partnership with Finance and Business Unit leaders to align procurement strategies. Influence business stakeholders to adopt strategic sourcing practices. Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on procurement strategy and market conditions. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team. Foster a culture of strategic thinking, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Build organizational procurement capabilities through training and professional development.

Who We re Looking For Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred) 15+ years of progressive procurement or strategic sourcing experience, including 5+ years in a Director+ level role Demonstrated experience building and setting procurement strategy, sourcing and negotiating technology-specific spend categories, SaaS/software licensing, cloud infrastructure, IT hardware, marketing, and…
