Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Freight Broker role based in Inwood, NY. The Freight Broker will source and negotiate freight opportunities with shippers and carriers, secure competitive rates, and arrange over-the-road and ocean transportation. Daily responsibilities include managing load tenders, coordinating dispatching, tracking shipments, resolving service issues, and ensuring timely pickups and deliveries. The role involves maintaining strong relationships with customers and carriers, handling inquiries, and providing proactive updates on shipment status.

The Freight Broker will also support account management activities such as maintaining accurate records, analyzing lane performance, and identifying opportunities to improve service and profitability.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in Freight Brokerage and Brokerage, including negotiating rates and coordinating shipments.
• Strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to manage inquiries, resolve issues, and build long-term relationships.
• Proficiency in Dispatching and coordinating loads, with attention to schedules, routes, and carrier capacity.
• Account Management abilities, including maintaining client accounts, monitoring performance, and identifying growth opportunities.
• Familiarity with over-the-road and ocean freight operations, transportation regulations, and industry terminology.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a focus on accuracy and timely follow-through.
• Comfort using transportation management systems (TMS), spreadsheets, and related logistics software.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and make sound decisions under time pressure.
• Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain is preferred; relevant education or certifications are a plus.
