The Buyer is responsible for supporting the procurement and management of assigned product categories to ensure strong in-stock conditions, competitive pricing, and healthy inventory turns. This role works closely with vendors, warehouse operations, logistics, and sales teams to maintain product flow and support overall company profitability.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field preferred1–5 years of purchasing, inventory, merchandising, or supply chain experience (food industry preferred)Strong analytical and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft ExcelAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication and problem-solving skillsKey Responsibilities:
Purchasing & Inventory Management:
Place purchase orders based on demand forecasts and inventory levelsMonitor daily inventory reports to prevent out-of-stocks and overstock situationsMaintain appropriate inventory levels to support sales while minimizing shrinkTrack and manage open purchase orders to ensure timely deliveryVendor Coordination:
Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, and lead timesAssist in negotiating costs and resolving discrepanciesSupport onboarding of new suppliers and item setupsPricing & Cost Management:
Maintain accurate cost and retail pricing in systemMonitor cost changes and communicate updates to internal stakeholdersAssist with margin analysis and competitive price checksCross-Functional Support:
Partner with warehouse and logistics teams to resolve receiving issuesWork with operations to address product quality concernsSupport promotional planning and executionData & Reporting:
Analyze sales trends and product performancePrepare reports on inventory levels, vendor performance, and category resultsWork Environment:
Office-based with periodic warehouse interactionFast-paced, high-volume wholesale environmentMay require early hours depending on assigned categoryCompensation and Benefits:
