As we continue to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Inventory Controller to support inventory accuracy, reporting, & effective inventory management across our operations.
PositionSummary
The Corporate Inventory Controller is responsible for overseeing inventory control processes, maintaining accurate inventory records, & ensuring alignment between system data and physical inventory across the organization. This role partners closely with corporate, warehouse, & operations teams to investigate discrepancies, analyze inventory data, support inventory audits, & implement processes that improve inventory accuracy, reduce shrink, & enhance operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate is an analytical, detail-oriented professional with strong inventory control experience and the ability to identify trends, investigate discrepancies, & develop solutions. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, & the ability to effectively collaborate with multiple departments & locations.
Key Responsibilities Inventory Control & Accuracy- Oversee inventory control processes to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, & reconciliation of inventory
- Maintain accurate inventory records within company systems & ensure alignment between system data & physical inventory
- Monitor inventory adjustments, transfers, damages, write-offs, & other inventory transactions for accuracy
- Investigate inventory discrepancies & identify root causes to support timely resolution
- Review inventory variances & work with operational teams to implement corrective actions
- Monitor inventory accuracy & identify potential sources of shrink or loss
- Establish & maintain consistent inventory control practices across locations
- Analyze inventory data, trends, & variances to identify operational issues & opportunities for improvement
- Prepare & maintain inventory reports, reconciliations, & performance metrics
- Monitor inventory accuracy KPIs & communicate findings to corporate & operational leadership
- Identify recurring discrepancies & develop recommendations to improve inventory accuracy
- Analyze inventory movement, adjustments, & other activity to identify trends or process gaps
- Provide accurate & timely inventory information to support business decisions
- Oversee & support cycle counts, physical inventories, inventory audits, & reconciliations
- Review audit results & investigate discrepancies between physical inventory & system records
- Ensure inventory adjustments are properly researched, documented, & approved
- Maintain accurate records of inventory audits, reconciliations, & corrective actions
- Partner with field locations to address inventory control issues & improve compliance with established procedures
- Partner with warehouse, operations, receiving, purchasing, finance, & other corporate teams to improve inventory accuracy
- Provide guidance & support to field locations on inventory control processes & procedures
- Collaborate with operational leadership to resolve complex inventory discrepancies
- Communicate inventory trends, risks, & opportunities to relevant stakeholders
- Support the development & implementation of inventory control standards across the organization
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory control processes, reporting, & operational efficiency
- Develop, implement, & maintain inventory control procedures, standards, & best practices
- Evaluate existing processes & recommend improvements to increase accuracy & reduce inventory loss
- Support compliance with company inventory policies, procedures, & internal controls
- Assist with implementing corrective actions & process improvements based on audit findings
- Promote accountability & consistency in inventory management across the organization
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Accounting, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in inventory control, inventory management, warehouse operations, distribution, or a related field
- Experience working with inventory management systems & reporting tools
- Strong understanding of inventory control, reconciliation, auditing, & warehouse processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to analyze & manipulate large data sets
- Strong analytical, organizational, & problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail & ability to identify discrepancies
