Inventory Specialist (Cannabis Dispensary)
- Full-Time
- $21/hourly
As an Inventory Specialist, you are responsible for maintaining accurate, organized, and compliant inventory operations across the dispensary. You oversee product movement from receipt to sale, ensuring all inventory is properly tracked, stored, and documented in accordance with company policies, METRC requirements, and New York State Office of
Cannabis Management (OCM) regulations. This role requires strong attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to work cross-functionally to support efficient and compliant store operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesInventory Management & Accuracy
- Receive, verify, and document incoming product deliveries
- Reconcile physical inventory with manifests and digital systems
- Log products accurately in seed-to-sale systems (e.g., METRC)
- Perform cycle counts, variance checks, and full inventory audits
- Track inventory by SKU, batch number, and expiration date
- Maintain organized storage, quarantine, and disposal areas
Compliance & Regulatory Adherence
- Follow all company policies and New York State cannabis regulations (OCM)
- Maintain accurate records of product movement, storage, returns, and disposal
- Quarantine and document expired, defective, or returned products
- Verify delivery documentation, including manifests and required records
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Communicate inventory availability and updates to store teams
- Coordinate with vendors and delivery partners on incoming shipments
- Assist with labeling, packaging verification, and product returns
- Support training and communication of inventory processes as needed
Data, Reporting & Systems
- Generate and review inventory and sales reports
- Use POS systems (e.g., Treez) to track inventory movement and sales trends
- Cross-check manifests, product labels, and tracking records for accuracy
- Support audit preparation and compliance documentation as needed
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift as needed
- Willingness to complete background checks and follow all applicable regulations
