Location: New York
Our client, a Japanese Logistics company is seeking an Export Opration Specialist (Mid level ~ Manager level) in their NY office.
Key Responsibilities- Manage export shipments (air/ocean), including booking, documentation, and scheduling
- Ensure compliance with export regulations and country requirements
- Coordinate with customers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations
- Prepare and review shipping documents, billing, and invoices
Monitor shipments and resolve issues to maintain service quality - Support pricing, carrier selection, and cost optimization
- Build relationships with clients and logistics partners
- Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency
- Support team workflow and assist junior members
- Handle escalations and contribute to operational improvements
- 3–8+ years of experience in export or freight forwarding
- Knowledge of export documentation and regulations
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in both air and ocean exports
- Exposure to pricing or carrier negotiation
- Japanese skill is a big plus
