Known for vibrant gemstones, bold designs, and exceptional craftsmanship, Effy has built a global presence with collections featured in more than 150 boutiques across premier land-based locations and cruise ships worldwide. With a strong foundation in quality, innovation, and customer experience, Effy continues to evolve while staying true to its heritage as a privately owned business.
Our teams operate at the intersection of luxury retail and global travel, delivering a personalized and elevated shopping experience to customers around the world.
The Shipping and Receiving Specialist owns the fulfillment of Effy Jewelry's direct-to-consumer web orders. The position handles the outbound cycle — packing, labeling, and shipping online orders within daily cutoff times — along with processing customer returns and exchanges and receiving and distributing incoming deliveries. Working alongside the e-commerce and customer service teams, the role keeps order statuses current, resolves carrier issues and maintains accurate shipping and inventory records.
This is a hands-on, high-volume position where organization and precision in handling fine jewelry are essential.
This role is based at our New York City headquarters and requires being onsite five days a
week.
Key Responsibilities:- Pack and ship daily web orders within same-day cutoff times.
- Verify each order against the order details — style, metal, stone, and size — before packing.
- Ensure shipments meet packaging and labeling requirements, including branded presentation and USPS, UPS, and Fed Ex documentation with insurance and signature requirements for high-value jewelry.
- Track and update order statuses to ensure timely deliveries.
- Resolve shipping issues, such as lost or delayed packages, with carriers.
- Receive and inspect incoming packages and distribute them to the appropriate departments.
- Process customer returns and exchanges, including inspecting and restocking merchandise.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, receipts, and inventory levels.
- Collaborate with customer service to address order-related inquiries.
- Keep the warehouse organized and compliant with safety regulations.
- Assist in optimizing shipping processes to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Assist the Shipping and Receiving team as needed.
- 1–2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or e-commerce order fulfillment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to stay accurate under daily order volume.
- Ability to lift and move packages and stand for extended periods as needed.
- Experience with e-commerce order management platforms and carrier shipping software (UPS World Ship, Fed Ex Ship Manager, USPS Click-N-Ship) is a plus.
- Strong communication and time management skills, with a track record of meeting daily shipping deadlines.
