Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Trade Compliance to lead the trade compliance function across the US and Canada. This role owns customs entry accuracy, government agency filings, and duty recovery, while managing broker relationships and serving as the subject matter expert on regulatory change impacting the business.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on trade compliance professional with deep US Customs expertise and the analytical rigor to translate complex regulatory change into actionable business guidance. This person is a self-starter who works well with minimal oversight, comfortable moving fluidly between big-picture strategy and day-to-day execution. They are highly organized, with strong time-management and prioritization skills to handle competing demands.

responsibilities
  • Own day-to-day customs compliance operations across the US and Canada, serving as the primary point of contact for Customs, customs brokers, and carriers on compliance matters, escalations, and audits.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Central on trade compliance matters affecting the US and Canada.
  • Manage HTS classification for the Masterfile, ensuring accurate, well-documented tariff classification of apparel, accessories, footwear, and watches/jewelry, as well as non-sellable shipments.
  • Conduct customs entry audits across brokers to identify discrepancies, driving corrective action through post entry corrections to ensure accurate and timely resolution with US Customs and CBSA.
  • Drive the US duty drawback program as a strategic duty recovery initiative, managing claim identification, filing, and stakeholder reporting.
  • Own the CTPAT program end-to-end, strengthening documentation, security protocols, and risk assessments to ensure continued program integrity and certification status.
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory changes across US Customs, CBSA, and partner government agencies, translating changes into actionable guidance for the business.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and training materials on customs procedures to ensure consistent compliance practices.
  • Build reporting and dashboards to give leadership visibility into compliance KPIs and duty spend.
Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, international business, or a related field required.
  • US customs broker license and/or Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in US trade compliance, preferably within the luxury fashion, apparel, or accessories industry.
  • Expert knowledge of US Customs regulations, CBSA requirements, import/export clearance procedures, and post-release processes.
  • Proven track record managing customs brokerage relationships, entry audits, and product classification programs.
  • Experience with duty drawback and CTPAT programs preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI or similar analytics/reporting tools a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, investigative, and project-management skills, with a proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven approach.
Additional information
