Head of Compute Supply Chain[San Francisco / remote-friendly US]
About the roleAnthropic's compute depends on supply chains that can't keep up with demand. Foundry capacity, memory, processors and networking are allocated to the customers suppliers consider strategic, and so are the transformers, chillers and turbines that power and cool our data centers. We are hiring a Head of Compute Supply Chain to own how Anthropic secures that supply.
You will oversee sourcing across semiconductors and IT hardware, data center equipment, and energy equipment. You will hold our executive supplier relationships, and identify gaps before they bite us. A very small team brought this function from zero to hyperscale in a matter of months. Your job is to grow it into a high-performing, talent-dense organization while solving supply challenges the industry has never seen before.
ResponsibilitiesOwn sourcing strategy across semiconductors and hardware, data center equipment, and energy equipment.
Build the organization: develop the category leads and set how the teams operate as they grow.
Secure supply ahead of demand through capacity reservations, wafer commitments and long-term agreements, working with the rest of the Compute team as well as domain experts in Finance and Legal.
Hold executive relationships with hardware suppliers and power and infrastructure OEMs.
Own supply risk, including single-source exposure, geography, tariffs and export controls.
Identify supply gaps before they impact the business.
You may be a good fit if youHave 15+ years in strategic sourcing or supply chain for semiconductors, hardware, or datacenter infrastructure, and have led a function rather than a single category.
Have built a sourcing organization through rapid growth, including managers who lead teams.
Have negotiated capacity or long-term supply agreements at multibillion-dollar scale with executive counterparts.
Have deep experience in either semiconductor supply (foundry, memory or hardware) or data center and power infrastructure equipment, and the judgment to lead the other.
Can make hard allocation calls and explain the trade-offs to executives.
Have strong written communication and executive presence.
Strong candidates may also haveBuilt a sourcing function from scratch.
Sourced for other kinds of hardware, such as robotics or manufacturing equipment.
Sourced across the US, Europe and Asia, including for an international data center portfolio.
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
$1 - $2 USD

Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position
Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
