Buyer
The Buyer is responsible for executing complex or technical procurement activities, including high-value purchases. This role negotiates pricing and contract terms, drives sourcing efforts and supplier performance to meet cost, quality and delivery objectives. As our Buyer you will purchase a variety of materials, supplies and services. Electronic components preferred. Coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner.
Processes purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers. Monitors the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to negotiate highest quality at best value. May recommend cost saving proposals including make-versus-buy analysis or alternative sourcing. Interacts closely with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues.
Location:
East Farmingdale, NY Salary Information: $65,000 - $80,000 Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline only, reflecting a position based in New York. Criteria such as the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience, the scope of the specific position, as well as market and business considerations will be evaluated when extending an offer.

- Evaluates bids, selects and recommends suppliers and negotiates price, delivery, quality and service.
- Follows up on all awards until completion of order.
- Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations and engineering changes.
- Conducts supplier site visits and rates them as to production capability, performance and delivery.
- Responsible for complying with corporate policies, procedures and underlying Federal, state and/or local regulations concerning the purchase or shipment of goods, materials, or services.
- Strong background procuring electronic components
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including data manipulation and presentation.
- Experience working with vendors and suppliers.
- Experience with inventory management software and systems, Familiarity with purchasing regulations and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
