Entry Writer

• Coordinate all documents required by US Customs for entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers
• Perform high-volume customs clearance processes and provide dedicated customer service
• Audit and review assigned brokerage files and payments to customs
• Classify commercial invoices using the US Tariff Book and CROSS
• Enter import AMS information and HTS# data, including transmission to US Customs
• Prepare entry documentation including 7501 and 3461
• Specialize in remote location filing
• Assist with import-operation compliance and maintain document compliance
• Maintain documentation and procedures in accordance with U.S. Customs standards
• Answer customer inquiries and perform related customer-service functions
• Arrange delivery and invoicing of import accounts
• File ISF 72 hours prior to shipment leaving the last origin port
• Audit files prior to paying the statement on the 9th day
• Prepare delivery orders, send them to truckers, and follow up with POD
• Process documents through the Company’s ABI system and obtain Customs and other government-agency releases
• Review and monitor Customs rejections and requests for information for clients
• Perform other duties assigned by management

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in logistics/freight forwarding industry
• Windows Operating System
• MS Office Applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
• Strong communication skills
• Demonstrated critical thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and risks, and identifying alternative solutions or approaches
• Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Ability to multi-task and work independently
• Time management skills
• Self-motivated, with an ability to self-manage
• Must be entitled to work in United States of America
• Must be prepared to undertake pre-employment checks including a criminal history check and medical
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.

Proficient in maintaining compliance with U.S. Customs standards while providing exceptional customer service in the logistics and freight forwarding industry.
