Chobani
· New York, NY (On-site 4 days/week)
· Full-time

Build the future of how America's #1 yogurt brand sources its ingredients.

Chobani is looking for a Director, Supply Chain Value Creation to design — from the ground up — our upstream sourcing strategy, get closer to growers, and turn sourcing into a competitive advantage. This is a build-it, not run-it role at the center of our supply-chain innovation. If you thrive in fast-evolving, ambiguous environments and want to create strategy rather than maintain a category, keep reading.

About

the role

This is a broader-than-procurement role that sits at the intersection of Procurement, R&D, Product Development, Supplier Quality, Operations, Planning, and Finance. Your near-term focus is our upstream fruit sourcing strategy — a multi-year priority as we shift toward strengthening traceability, and deepening our connection to the growers behind our products. Longer term, you'll help shape how we build stronger, more resilient grower and supplier partnerships — and where we can create the most value across our sourcing network.

You'll operate in ambiguity, bring structure to complex and evolving business questions, build the business case, and guide cross-functional teams from initial investigation through implementation.
This is a director-level, individual-contributor position.

What you'll do
  • Develop and lead a multi-year upstream sourcing strategy — future sourcing models, grower and processor networks, domestic sourcing, traceability, and resilience.
  • Partner closely with R&D to support reformulation and new-product development, identifying which growers and sourcing paths can deliver the ingredient attributes our products need.
  • Scope and advance complex sourcing initiatives end-to-end: feasibility, business requirements, financial implications, risks, governance, and implementation planning.
  • Evaluate opportunities to create value beyond price negotiation — supplier partnerships, specification improvements, and network optimization.
  • Serve as a center point for supply-chain innovation, helping shape a more holistic process that spans ingredients, packaging, and planning.
  • Translate broad business needs into clear workplans, decisions, owners, timelines, and recommendations for senior leadership.
What you'll bring
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, strategic sourcing, operations, or value creation — ideally in consumer packaged goods (food or beverage).
  • Experience with agricultural commodity markets, price-risk dynamics, and perishable ingredients. (Fruit or produce experience is ideal, but not required — we'll coach the commodity; we're hiring for the capability.)
  • A track record of building programs and capabilities from scratch, not inheriting or maintaining an existing operation.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills — building business cases, evaluating alternatives, quantifying risk, and measuring results.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional work and influence across Procurement, R&D, Operations, Finance, and beyond.
  • Strong supplier-development instincts that go beyond transactional negotiation.
  • A bachelor's degree, ideally in supply chain or business. MBA a plus.
Who thrives here

The hardest part of this role isn't the technical skillset — it's the pace of change. Our sourcing strategy has evolved more than once and will keep evolving. The people who succeed are comfortable working in the gray, make pivots without losing momentum, and would rather build the strategy and capabilities than keep the lights on. If constant direction changes energize you, you'll do your best work here.
