Employee-Owned Premier Counter top Company is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic/CDL A Driver for a growing company in Syracuse. Full-time, Monday through Friday, year-round position with occasional overtime and room for growth!
JOB SUMMARY:The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for moving company product using a 40-ton commercial vehicle or other company vehicle, assisting the Facilities Manager with the maintenance, daily repairs, and functionality of the company buildings and vehicles. Building maintenance includes the upkeep of the inside and outside of the building, including some janitorial duties, and vehicle maintenance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:- Hauling material to other company sites and customer locations.
- Basic electrical maintenance, such as changing and/or installing light fixtures
- Basic structural maintenance, repairs to the building such as fixing damages in the walls
- Basic mechanical maintenance, including oil changes, air filter, wiper blades, lights, etc.
- Basic plumbing maintenance
- Facilitate grounds care such as snow removal, lawn care, etc.
- Assist Facilities Manager in tasks
- Flexibility to assist other departments as needed
- Flexibility to work outside of standard schedule as business needs require
- Additional duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must have at the time of hire, and maintain throughout employment, a valid NYS license with Class A endorsement, free of major infractions.
- Two to three years’ building maintenance experience desired.
- One year of basic automotive experience desired.
- Possession of, or ability to receive and maintain, forklift operator’s license.
- Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
- Ability to create, compose, edit written materials, and prepare reports when necessary.
- Ability to send/receive email messages, post information to a database or spreadsheet, and perform basic word processing and/or data entry.
- Ability to understand directions and follow standard operating procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time, walk, talk, hear, push, pull, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend, climb, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally.
