Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Supervisor of Engineering - Brooklyn.

In this role, the successful candidate will have supervisory responsibility over daily operations, projects, and maintenance staff. The Supervisor will oversee the proper operation of all hospital plant equipment and, in the absence of senior management, will assume responsibility for departmental operations. Duties include monitoring office computerized systems, teaching and training different trades, and inspecting and maintaining all rooms, HVAC boilers, A/C units, and alarms.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily operations and maintenance staff.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
  • Inspect and maintain all mechanical rooms.
  • Monitor and keep records of statement of conditions.
  • Supervise construction and painting projects.
  • Teach and train different trades.
  • Monitor service and repair of emergency generators and Co Gen.
  • Service high and low-pressure boilers.
  • Service fire alarm systems and medical gases.
  • Manage office computerized systems, HVAC boilers, A/C units, alarms, etc.
  • Distribute work orders and verify completion.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • At least 5 years of substantial experience in boilers, air conditioning, and maintenance fields.
  • Q01 COQ Refrigeration Engineer certification required.
  • G71 Supervision of Piped Non-flammable Medical Gases certification.
  • S12 Citywide Sprinkler Systems certification.
  • S13 Citywide Stand Pipe Systems certification.
  • S95 Supervision of Fire Alarms Systems and related systems certification.
  • A35 Certification to operate and maintain air compressors.
  • F01 Citywide Fire Guard for Impairment certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Trade School graduate with hospital experience preferred.

Qualified candidates must communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
