A lovely mature couple is seeking a full-time live-out houseman/housekeeper for their home on the Upper East Side. The general work schedule is Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, but this position will require flexibility for the occasional weekend shift if the family is entertaining or arriving from out of town with luggage and/or guests.

The townhouse is about 10,000 square feet and includes five bedrooms. The other staff include two other full-time housekeepers and a chef, with whom you will work daily to carry out the needs of the home.

If the candidate has additional skills such as service or more formal butler work, it may be the case that the family would take advantage of those skills and add them to the list of expected responsibilities. The home has fine modern furnishings and an expansive art collection, so this person must have strong experience with the careful maintenance and upkeep required in such homes.

Generally, the family is very respectful of their employees' time off, so if there is a shift required outside of typical hours, as much notice will be given as possible. This couple is looking for a person who is willing to join their team long-term and grow with them.

Candidates must be mature, hardworking, and professional with consistent, long-term experience in a similar role. The family is seeking someone who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and efficient. The most important trait they are seeking is the lack of ego. They are very thoughtful and respectful employers, and they want to find someone who can reciprocate that. The ideal candidate has a, "no job too small" attitude.

While the family is relaxed and friendly, they have high expectations that their home remains well-organized, beautiful, and clean. When they entertain non-family members, they expect to have a more formal and elegant sense of discretion.

This position requires a COVID vaccination. The salary range offered is $40 to $50 per hour, and the rate will reflect the experience and skill-set of the hired candidate. The family is seeking the highest quality candidates, and the compensation will be competitive depending on experience, and the benefits will include a medical and dental plan.
