Building Maintenance, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic

Purpose
The Chief Maintenance is responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility maintenance operations to ensure the safety, functionality, and efficiency of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure. This executive-level role provides strategic direction for maintenance policies and procedures, leads capital improvement projects, manages a team of engineers and technicians, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities- Oversee the implementation of all property and equipment repairs and preventative maintenance; monitor life safety systems.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance.
- Respond in a courteous and timely manner to guests’ questions, complaints or requests.
- Perform maintenance and repair work on the interior and exterior of the building, hotel rooms and contents, laundry and kitchen/refrigeration equipment, lighting, heating/air conditioning (HVAC) ventilation, water treatment systems and swimming pools.
- Schedule staff to perform Preventive Maintenance Program and follow and enforce procedures that ensure the security of inventory such as tools, supplies, equipment, furniture, televisions, etc.
- Monitor supplies and inventory in a timely and efficient manner, minimizing waste and ensuring that equipment is prepared and operational for the next shift.
- Monitor work order volume and prioritize assignments for the team as necessary.
- Inspect work assignments for maintenance staff to ensure that work is completed in a timely manner and within specifications.
- Manage shift operations including staff scheduling, training and coaching.
- Maintain regular attendance, punctuality, and compliance with prescribed work, break and meal periods.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including compliance with the dress code.
- Perform any other duties as requested by supervisor.

QualificationsEducation and Experience
High school diploma or GED; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
General knowledge of repairing/replacing plumbing systems, HVAC equipment, refrigeration and all kitchen equipment. Knowledge of swimming pool maintenance and correct chemical balance.
Qualifications
Ability to interpret and perform basic computer functions, including MS Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel. Possess Pool Certificate, CPR and AED.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment normally entails the following:
- Indoor or outdoor work environment.
- Moderate to high noise levels consistent with hotel environment.
- Workshop environment.
This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Physical DemandsDuring the course of performing the physical demands of this position, associates are expected to observe and adhere to safety and security procedures, promoting a safe work environment.
- May be required to work in various environments including mechanical rooms, rooftops, pool and outdoor areas.
- Must be able to walk, stand, and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- On-call availability and occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required.
