W83, home to Redeemer West Side Presbyterian Church, is a neighborhood hub for conversation, culture, and community on the Upper West Side of NYC. On-Call Operations & Facilities Team Members provide on-site support for daily operations, maintenance, and event needs, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment with WOW-level service. As part of the Operations team, you’ll support team members, staff, congregants, and guests in living out our vision to love our neighbors and heal our city.
This hands‑on role combines maintenance, setup, and event support—ideal for a reliable, skilled, and proactive team member who enjoys problem‑solving, working with tools, and seeing immediate results.
- Hands‑on, practical problem‑solver who enjoys working in a variety of environments.
- Reliable, punctual, detail‑oriented, and willing to take initiative.
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repairs is a plus.
- Keep furniture, equipment, and spaces in top condition, handling them with care and pride.
- Enforce building policies, safety guidelines, and emergency plans to keep everyone inside the building safe.
- Set up and break down event spaces, assisting the events department during events, including waste management and transporting/storing items as needed.
- Communicate clearly, stay positive, wear clean and proper uniform, show up on time, and work as part of a team to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude toward supervisors, team members, staff, and clients.

- Availability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and summer, if available (minimum shift of 4 hours). There is always room for more, if you are available and willing to.

- Must obtain FDNY F-03 certification within 60 days of start.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting and carrying of equipment weighing up to 75 pounds may be required.
- Ability to walk up to seven flights of stairs.
- Physical mobility and endurance to perform tasks while standing or walking for extended periods (60 minutes or more).
- Frequent use of hands and arms for handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
- Regularly required to walk, bend, stoop, or kneel.
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill set; experience and training; licensure, certifications, and ordination; and other organizational needs.
