Overview

SPORTIME owns and operates 17 tennis, pickleball, sports, camp and fitness clubs across NYS, including sites across Long Island, in Westchester, Manhattan, the Capital Region and New Jersey. SPORTIME is in the process of creating and scaling its new pickleball division, which aims to own or lease and operate dedicated indoor and outdoor pickleball sites in current markets and nearby areas.

The Housekeeping staff performs janitorial and maintenance tasks inside the club house, offices, and locker rooms. When needed, the Housekeeping staff is also responsible for daily cleaning and maintenance of the tennis courts. This full-time, hands-on position also involves outdoor grounds maintenance and related duties as they develop.

• Maintain a safe, clean and secure work environment
• Perform janitorial work in and around the facility (washing and/or mopping floors, stairs, sidewalks, walls; dusting; vacuuming; cleaning glass surfaces; wood panels; sweeping; applying floor wax; restocking paper products and supplies)
• Maintain cleanliness of the entrance lobby, hallways, floors and carpeting, furniture, windows, sills, mirrors, staircases, fitness rooms and offices
• Clean, dry and fold towels
• Continuously monitor the environment for hazards and report to the MOD and GM
• Wipe dust from exit signs, door hinges, emergency lights and clocks
• Refill water coolers on courts
• Assist in keeping entrances and walkways clear of water and snow during inclement weather
• Change light bulbs and batteries in automatic dispensers
• Collect and dispose of trash; collect and store tennis balls and other equipment used on courts
• Assist in court maintenance as needed (court sweeping and lines)
• Abide by SPORTIME policies and procedures
• Uphold safety standards by wearing protective gear when using cleaning supplies; identify and correct hazards; report faulty equipment and ensure MSDS are up to date

• Knowledge of maintaining pickleball courts is a plus
• Basic knowledge of carpentry, painting, plumbing, construction and mechanical issues
• Knowledge of basic customer service principles
• Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with the body
• Ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles to support the body over time
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
• Ability to sit and stand for long periods

COMPENSATION: $18.00 per hour

SCHEDULE: Full-time, Monday – Friday afternoon/evening
