Position:
Custodian/Maintenance Worker (Floater)

Reports to:

Facilities Manager

Function:
Responsible for cleaning and maintenance of physical plant

Location:

Based in Queens (Queens Village) with occasional travel to other programs in Queens, Manhattan, and the Bronx as needed.

Schedule:

Tuesdays through Saturdays (8:00am-4:00pm)

• Clean physical plant including office areas, bathrooms, kitchens, resident rooms, lounges, mechanical areas, elevators, stairways (windows, blinds, floors, walls, baseboards, doors, furniture)
• Buff floors
• Clean and maintain equipment/appliances (refrigerators, air conditioner units, etc.)
• Clean and organize supply and resident storage areas
• Perform snow removal
• Alert supervisory personnel to furniture and appliance issues
• Perform light maintenance and preventive maintenance
• Alert Program Directors and supervisor to maintenance problems
• Assist with client move-ins and move-outs
• Attend support staff meetings
• Be on call for emergencies
• Duties as assigned by supervisor

Able to lift at least 50 pounds, move furniture, carry equipment and climb stairs with ease. Ability to work well with others.

Salary: $41,600 plus generous benefits
