Description

The Senior Custodian is responsible for cleaning and maintaining Housing Works’ Cylar house property and its grounds. Performs painting, plastering, carpentry, minor plumbing, and mechanical repairs on building fixtures, equipment, and hardware. Performs and assists with apartment turnovers, work orders and other maintenance/repairs tasks as assigned.

Compensation Range

$20/hr - $21/hr commensurate with experience.

Primary Responsibilities

• Adhere to the custodial and preventative maintenance plan to ensure that the buildings’ common spaces, bathrooms, offices, residential spaces, laundry rooms, and the building’s grounds are clean, sanitary, and properly stocked with supplies.
• Put out trash at the buildings in accordance with NYC guidelines.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Assist in the apartment/room turnover process by cleaning out and preparing apartments for new residents, utilizing trade skills for minor repairs, e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, and heating and cooling.
