CAMBA administers services at 10 Cornerstone Community Centers across Brooklyn. All Cornerstone programs are run in partnership with other community organizations to provide education, recreation, cultural activities, health information and screenings, youth leadership and social services to the neighborhood’s students, their families, and other residents. Activities and services are available after school, evenings and on weekends.

What The Maintenance Worker Does:
- Follow agency, funder, and public health guidelines and protocols on use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), social distancing, and sanitizing the facilities
- Identify and report all maintenance issues
- Ensure maintenance equipment is operational and monitor and replenish maintenance supplies as needed
- Perform a daily walk-through of the facility to ensure that it is cleaned and ready for participant and staff arrival
- Maintain daily cleaning logs in compliance with agency and funder standards and produce logs in response to requests from funders
- Assist with set up/break down for events, community meetings or other programming by moving furniture and other items within the facility to create space, setting up/breaking down folding tables and chairs, and moving trash receptacles
- Utilize appropriate safety standards and display safety signs when performing tasks
- Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, window blinds, and draperies
- Clean and sanitize toilets, sinks, tubs, showers, shower fixtures, including walls, floors, curtains, stalls, and mirrors
- Perform floor buffing duties in compliance with agency and funder standards
- Replace light bulbs, light covers, and electrical outlet covers as needed
- Dust and/or wipe furniture, equipment, and ceiling fans
- Separate and transport trash, recyclables and waste to disposal area and consolidate for pickup
- Remove snow and/or ice from the sidewalks, driveways and stairs
- Replenish bathroom supplies including toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap
- Wash walls, ceiling, woodwork, windows, sills and door panels, heating and cooling vents and air conditioner filters
- Plaster and paint interiors of buildings, as needed
- Perform deep cleaning and sanitizing after emergency situations within the facility (i.e., flooding due to inclement weather or a broken pipe), as needed
- Provide back-up for facility opening and closing duties, as well as accepting deliveries, if Cornerstone Director or Assistant Director are unavailable
- Make minor repairs to door handles or locks as needed
- May remove graffiti from interior and exterior surfaces
Minimum Education/Experience Required:
- Sufficient education and technical expertise: to comprehend written and oral instructions (work orders); to accomplish maintenance tasks; and to document accomplished tasks
