Location: New York
Position Summary
Under general direction, the Porter A will primarily be responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of Columbia University apartment buildings and grounds area.
Responsibilities- Clean and maintain building and grounds complex – elevators, stairways, corridors, windows, floors, laundry rooms, vacant apartments, and offices (occupied or unoccupied).
- Trim trees and shrubs; fertilize, seed, and mow lawn.
- Sweep and hose sidewalks, and remove snow and spread salt as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Heavy lifting may be required.
- High school diploma or equivalency certification required.
- Knowledge of building and grounds maintenance a plus.
- Excellent communication skills necessary.
