Part Time Janitor​/Cleaner

POSITION SUMMARY

This position will perform cleaning functions, including cleaning offices & washrooms, washing floors, cleaning sinks, polish floors, cleaning carpets and general housekeeping duties.

JOB FUNCTIONS

• Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, corridors, stairways and other work areas.
• Clean and disinfect washrooms and fixtures.
• Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs.
• Clean rugs, carpets, furniture, and draperies, using a vacuum cleaner.
• Dust furniture and equipment.
• Wash windows, walls, doors and ceilings.
• Replenish bathroom supplies.
• Replace light bulbs.
• Empty trash cans and other waste containers.
• Transport trash and waste to disposal area.
• Abide by the regulations set forth by the material safety data sheets when using chemicals.
• May be assigned and coordinate special or ad hoc projects as needed.
• Keep cleaning closets stocked.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• A minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) is required.
• A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a cleaning or housekeeping related role is required.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

• Successfully passing a criminal background check before his/her first day of employment.
• Must have and maintain a clean and valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
• Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast‑paced, highly professional environment.
• Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition.
• Ability to work well with others & independently.
• Proven time management skills and a strong attentions to detail.
• Works well under pressure.
• Extended hours and shiftwork may be required from time to time.
• Must be willing to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts.
• Ensures full compliance with the company’s Health and Safety, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct policies.
